MusicMIN Shares a Painful Lesson in Love She Wishes She Could Change in Her MV “Tren Tinh Ban Duoi Tinh Yeu”

MIN, a young talented vocalist of Vietnam, is back on the music game with her newest song “Trên Tình Bạn Dưới Tình Yêu” dropped on November 5th.

The title of the song was inspired by a quote that is commonly used to describe an ambiguous boy-and-girl relationship. In this comeback, MIN enriched Vietnamese music with a notable project that has an impressive concept that is of MIN’s signature style we are familiar with.

The music video “Trên Tình Bạn Dưới Tình Yêu” belongs to the pop music genre that is full of positive energy. This pop song has an upbeat vibrant mood as we see MIN in her cute school uniform and then changing into a hip red-haired teen girl. However, it is only deceptive to the lyrics and actual story line that is about to unfold.

Although the MV may seem like an innocent fun pop song on the surface, a dark sad love story is about to be unveiled. MIN is known as the artist who frequently goes against the trend, but always gains successes in Vpop. Therefore, once again “Trên Tình Bạn Dưới Tình Yêu” is expected to rule over numerous music charts and sit on the top of YouTube trending.

The MV was staged inside of a time train which represents the lives of the protagonists in the MV. As she passes through each train deck, it follows her at certain moments of her life as she matures. MIN emerged at the 18th deck in the role of an adorable peacekeeping student. In the middle of breaking up boy fights, MIN accidentally met a boy and had an instant connection.

This kind of affection has yet to be called “love” but is above friendship. The boy hands her a heart key chain as a keepsake gift so she will always remember him. As they grow older and step onto the 23rd deck, the boy decided to bravely confess his love to end the ambiguous tie and start a serious relationship with MIN.

However, she couldn’t seal the love with him as life can be so chaotic and full of surprises. MIN walked away from him with her group of friends to begin her busy adult life. While hanging out with her friends on the train, she bumps into her handsome friend causing the keepsake gift the boy gave her years ago to drop on the floor.

The boy sees it fall and is heartbroken. He can’t do anything but watch her slip away. As she enters the next deck leaving the boy behind, she suddenly remembers she forgot something and turns around.

But it’s too late…the door on the other side closes shut and MIN sees the boy full of sorrow as an old female classmate walks back into his life. He confesses to her and they both fall in love. MIN did not want to accept this so she runs back to the previous decks to return to the time they were together.

She returns to deck 23 where the boy originally confessed to her to witness her younger self foolishly walk away from him. In the end, MIN reads the banner “đừng làm bạn nữa, làm người yêu tớ nhé!” (don’t be my friend, be my lover) with her eyes flowing with tears as she will forever regret this moment in her life.
