Hai Phong is a beautiful city. I visited it in the summer of 2016 and was impressed by the kindness of its people, the beauty of its architecture, and the delicious food. I would recommend that you stay at the Hotel Nikko Hai Phong.
I’m all for a good day trip. But I’m not sure I’d consider going to Hai Phong for three days.
This was rated as one of the worst places to visit in Vietnam on a few different travel channels and blogs I follow. I guess this is down to it having a past with gang issues. It is a shame! I would have never thought to go here if I otherwise listened and never found this article.
Hai Phong gets a bad rep for its past being the gangster capital But that was back in the days. Don’t let that scare you away! Now Hai Phong is a great city to visit. The food is amazing, the activities are fun and there’s plenty to see and do.
